2 FREE baby blanket patterns
When you or a loved one is expecting a new bundle of joy, it’s in our nature as knitters to knit baby clothes, toys, and most importantly, blankets. Check out these two fabulous and simple patterns, straight from our independent designers!
We love this blanket – so simple that even a beginner could make it, and a perfect quick knit for a more experienced knitter. Created entirely in garter stitch, the blanket features a simple eyelet border for interest. It knits up to be 69 cm (27 and 1/4 inches) square, but can easily be altered to be larger or smaller based on your needs. This pattern features UK Alpaca Super fine DK – to create the blanket as shown, you will need 4 balls in the shade Parchment. We also love the shade Sky Blue; click on the image below to view all available shades. To see the rest of Marie Mickiewicz’s patterns, click here.
The opposite to the previous blanket, this lovely throw is entirely in stocking stitch with a similar eyelet border. This pattern is just as easy to adjust for sizing, measuring at 28 inches square as pictured. We recommend Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran for a superior softness, a go to yarn when knitting for babies and toddlers. We love shades Rose (053) and Jade (061) – click on the image below to view all of the gorgeous available shades; you will need 5 balls to complete this project with the written size.
