Gorgeous new MillaMia yarn shades for spring and summer
Love MillaMia yarn? These fabulous new MillaMia yarn shades are a must have for all knitters’ stashes this year.
The MillaMia yarn story
With roots in the Scandinavian yarn tradition, their patterns are classic, chic designs with a contemporary twist. Their yarns are made with the finest fiber for a top notch quality yarn that knitters have grown to love. They have a commitment to quality and design that’s unparalleled, and these new shades are causing some serious excitement in the yarn community.
This sport weight yarn is spun with extra fine merino wool to create a lusciously soft, versatile yarn. This month, MillaMia released an unbelievable ten new shades to feast upon!
In addition to the ten new shades, MilliaMia also released the new Krister Booties pattern. It’s a perfect go-to pattern for baby booties, and it would look great with the new shades.
These are incredibly adorable and simple enough for a knitting beginner. The Krister Booties would make a great baby shower or christening gift, don’t you think? These booties are from the fabulous Winter Knitting pattern book – click here to check it out. Here are some new shade colorways that we love:
Berry – Ice – Rain
This purpley palette is fun and classic. With Berry (left), Ice (center), and Rain (right), these shades work together to bring out the best in each other. Ice and Rain are in the new shade collection, and they perfectly complement the existing Berry shade.
Cloud Grey – Petal – Sky Blue
“Cloud Petal Sky” sounds like a song we would listen to on the radio, and we love it. Cloud Grey (left) and Sky Blue (right) are new shades, complemented perfectly by the existing Petal (center) shade. Many knitters love using Naturally Soft Merino yarn for their baby knits, and the inclusion of these gentle pastels show they they have been listening to what knitters want.
Haze Grey – Ice – Fuchsia
Haze Grey (left) and Ice (center) are perfect monochrome additions to complement Fuchsia (right). The grey and white make that pink shade pop, and help to bring out the best in all bright hues.
Scarlet – Butterscotch – Ink Blue
For bold and bright knitters, we love pairing the new Butterscotch (center) and Ink (right) shades with the existing Scarlet (left). This punchy palette is perfect for knitters who love color and want to create something funky and fun.
If booties aren’t your favorite, why not check out the revitalized Tivoli cushion, which also features Naturally Soft Merino yarn?
Any of the colorways above would work fabulously for this cushion – or you can create your own with the expanded color palette from MillaMia. This cushion was worked in Lilac Blossom, Rain, Ice, and Haze Grey. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Everything you love about the sport weight yarn, in an aran, worsted weight. This fabulous yarn has amazing loft and squish, and knits up like a dream come true. Here are some color combinations that we can’t get enough of, featuring new shades.
Aqua – Cloud Grey – Shocking Pink
What could be better for summer than eye-popping neon shades? This combination of Aqua (left), Cloud Grey (center), and Shocking Pink (right) is a great representation of these new shades. We think these shades would make a fabulous blanket that would keep summer in your home all year round.
Blush – Haze Grey – Putty Grey
For traditionalists, this palette of new shades Blush (left) and Haze Grey (center) work perfectly with the existing Putty Grey (right). The monochrome greys make the gentle pink pop, and the pink and grey combination is definitely in this year.
Denim – Paradise Orange – Mist
The bright, vibrant, new Paradise Orange looks fabulous sandwiched by the equally new but muted shades of Denim and Mist Grey. Stay on trend with this orange shade – make a statement cardigan or a stunning cushion to give new life to your couch.
What do other knitters and crocheters think?
If you haven’t knitted with MillaMia yarns before, you might be wondering what other yarn crafters think. Is it soft? Are the colors true to the picture?
Sarah-Jayne of BellaCoco loves the new MillaMia yarn shades – and as an avid crocheter, you know she’s paying special attention to the colors and the softness of the yarn.
Another crocheter we love, Emma of Potter and Bloom, loves the new MillaMia yarn shades we sent her – nice and vibrant, just like her.
She also made a video review!
Our customers can rate the yarns they buy – and both MillaMia yarns have a 5 star, 100% rating from knitters and crocheters just like you. They have said that the Naturally Soft Aran is “Great wool to knit with” and “Has great stitch definition.” Those who used the Naturally Soft Merino found that the “Colours were exactly what I was expecting.”
