Trend predictions for 2017!

Share the Love:

Predicting the future may sound far-fetched, but when you live and breathe knitting patterns every day, you start to notice growing trends. Here are six predictions that we at LoveKnitting think will be extremely popular this coming year.

1. Stripes

Stripes are quite timeless, but we’ve seen an increase in their use in everything from jumpers and sweaters to blankets and hats. If you’ve been knitting up one-color projects, stripes are a great way to start practicing colorwork.

Hand-Dyed Shawls

Hand-dyed yarn makes some of the most elegant garments, and most recently we’ve seen it popping up in shawls and wraps. Here are three amazing examples!

Natural/Un-Dyed Yarns

For the purists out there, these patterns use only natural wool, and blend different colored wool to get different shades of yarn. These earthy tones look great in any pattern!

Big Jumpers

Oversized jumpers look great, but it’s their snuggly feel that makes them so appealing. We love the textures and cabling on these great patterns.

Baby Booties that Look Like Shoes

We love this twist on the classic baby bootie pattern. Made to look like tiny little shoes, these booties are an adorable way to keep your baby’s feet warm.

Hi I am looking for a pattern for a swing style pullover size 20? Any ideas??

  3. Myriam says:

It seems like more and more people knit cardis, open-front or buttoned-up style. I, too, jumped on the cardi bandwagon last year and have knit three since last winter. I’m about to start another one.

Cardis are such great garments for work-from-home moms – and probably for many, many other people, too. They’re easy to shrug on and off, they can easily be customized with added pockets, and they often have that business-casual look that can take you from a skype work meeting through some late-afternoon fun in the park with the kids, and end up at an evening date with your spouse.

  4. Lavinia says:

It’s wonefrdul to have you on our side, haha!

  5. XRumerTest says:

    Hello. And Bye.
