Going for Gold: Finnish Snowboard Coach Knits His Way Into Your Heart!

We all have times in our lives that are especially stressful and trying! For athletes and coaches, the Olympic Games are definitely a challenging time, and what better way to cope with stress than to knit?

The Finnish snowboarding coach Antti Koskinen delighted viewers all over the world last Friday by picking up his needles at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. On top of the slope, while his team was snowboarding no less! Many people took to twitter to express their newfound love for the coach!

Some might even stay tuned, just to see a second round of knitting!

One question hasn’t been answered yet: What is Koskinen knitting? Rumor has it, it’s even more precious than just a simple project to calm his nerves!

And it’s not the first time Antti Koskinen is seen knitting during competition time: In 2014, he did the exact same thing! Proving that some remedies for stress are just ageless.

I’m not a good air traveler so I tried knitting on the plane. Not a good idea. My stitches while flying were all SOOOO much tighter than those done on the ground! I am of Finnish descent incidentally, and my family lived in Finland for a year when I was in sixth grade and part of each school day was reserved for knitting. I learned to knit mittens that year.

  2. Jane says:

I carry knitting with me everywhere. I wish I could knit in the dentist chair because that is where I have the most anxiety. Haha. Love this coach.
