Flock launch party 2016

Last Saturday we hosted a party at the LoveKnitting HQ in London for all of our glorious members of The Flock. Over the course of a Prosecco-filled evening we managed to fit in bundles of yarn-tasting, knitting, crocheting, pompom making, and lots of idle chat.

What the Flock?

Here at LoveKnitting we’re working hard to continue building the ideal home for makers. But how could we get there without the help of the ludicrously talented craft blogging community? The Flock is a blogger ambassador programme built to recognise hard-working, talented bloggers — bringing them together to share ideas, collaborate on projects, and review the latest products. Oh, and have a whole heap of fun of course! You can read more about this amazing group of go-getters here.

We launched the Flock earlier this year and have since welcomed over a whopping 100 bloggers, so we felt it was about time to invite them to a special party here at the LoveKnitting HQ and treat them to a bit of a shindig!

Yarn Tasting

What would a LoveKnitting party be without a whole lotta yarn? Many of the designers and bloggers had flocked to us after a day at Yarnporium for even more yarn tasting…

A humongous thanks to our absolutely amazing sponsors for sending some much gorgeous yarn for the Flockers to squish! Sweet Georgia, Lang Yarns, Lamana, Lana Grossa, MillaMia, Fyberspates, DMC, Rico, Sugar Bush, Paintbox Yarns, Koigu and Socks Yeah! all gifted us lashings of yarn for keen party goers to play with. Bloggers not only had a chance to test out all of the yarns, they each went away with a fantastic goody bag stuffed full of yummy yarns.

Guests were treated to lashings of Proscecco, canapes, and cute mini Flock cupcakes.

Everyone had fun taking snaps of the event in our photo booth – there were props and headbands designed by the ridiculously talented Christine Leech, and the backdrop was drawn by our very own Sian!

We had pom pom workshop to give our Flock mascot a lovely winter coat, a Paintbox Pick ‘N’ Mix station full of mini Paintbox balls to take home, as well as a more traditional Pick ‘N’ Mix chock full of sweet treats.

Jenni from the LK team talked about the various benefits of joining the Flock whilst holding a quiz to win Paintbox Yarns advent calendars. Katarina from MillaMia made a special announcement, Adam from the team talked about how our Flock could build their brand whilst the lovely Sophie rounded off the evening by giving a demo of the LoveKnitting app.
