Inspiration station: color story – jewel tones

From catwalk to cast on, LoveKnitting has you covered for fall and winter trends for 2015. Today, we’re talking about jewel tones, the fashion trend of the year. We are obsessed with these colors, and we just can’t get enough of these yarns.

Inspiration station: jewel tones

1. Araucania Maipo – PT1956

This deliciously jewel toned yarn is hand-dyed in Chile by expert dyers who pass the tradition down through the generations. The chainette construction of the yarn means that it’s soft and light, as well as being durable and versatile. It’s 100% wool, and we think it would make a stunning bolero for this fall. Check out this pattern, which would be absolutely stunning, not to mention fashion forward.

2. Fyberspates Gleem Lace – 700

This yarn is a stunning favorite at LoveKnitting HQ – with a blend of silk and British Blue Faced Leicester wool, this yarn is unbelievably smooth. The shades in this line are to die for, and this lush mauve is no exception. We’re thinking about sunny arboretums and a matching shawl, knitted in this yarn that has a subtle yet impressive shine. We love this shawl, by Mary Annarella!

3. Rico Baby So Soft DK – Fir Green

Little ones deserve to wear beautiful colors, too! This deliciously deep green yarn is perfect for baby knits – it’s machine washable and super soft. Does the little one in your life need a hunter green cardigan this year?

4. Rowan Big Wool Silk – Verse

It’s super chunky, it’s a blend of wool and silk, and it’s a delicious shade of perdot green. August birthday babies rejoice – finally, a yarn that matches our gemstone and does it justice.

5. Malabrigo Worsted – Forest

We all love a bit of Malabrigo – their stunningly dyed yarns make even the coldest heart melt. We are in love with this emerald shade! Imagine this yarn in a cardigan like this one my Minimi Designs: stunning!
