Announcing Our Knitting Oscar Winners!
It’s award show season! And since movies and music have been covered, here at LoveKnitting we’ve decided to choose our very own Knitting Oscar winners! We’ve asked some of our colleagues to choose their favorites in these yarny categories!
The Yarn Winners
Merion chose the Malabrigo Worsted to win her Yarn Oscar! The color range and the soft Merino wool make this aran weight yarn just perfect for luxurious sweaters, elegant shawls, or cute cardigans! A great all-rounder that’s a worthy winner!
There’s only one possible winner for Yazmin and it’s the unique Hoooked Zpagetti Solids! This T-shirt yarn will add a unique twist to any super chunky project! Cushion covers, bags, groovy garments – everything gets a touch of fun with this yarn.
The new Paintbox Wool Mix comes in 60 shades and is perfect for quick and fun crochet projects, especially Eric’s favorite: hats! If you want a great gift for friends and family, you can’t go wrong with one in their favorite color! The perfectly blended mix of wool and acrylic mix makes the yarn durable, soft, and warm!
For Csilla, the winner is a classic beauty! Willow & Lark yarns are inspired by British design and beautiful landscapes! The Ramble line is made from 100% wool – super soft, hard-wearing and still machine-washable! Definitely a top pick!
The Pattern Winners
Knitting for her niece has made Emma an expert in children knits! And what better gift could an auntie make than a sweet baby blanket? The Teodora Baby Blanket by N D Design has captured her heart like no other! The adorable design features make this FREE pattern a winner!
There’s nothing better than wrapping yourself up on a mild spring day in the park! For Mara the Blanket Scarf by Two of Wands is everything you could hope for: it’s cute, it’s cozy, and keeps you comfortably warm! If that’s not a keeper, what is?
The award for the Quickest Knitting Project goes to Merion’s Fastest Heart! Even when it’s not Valentine’s Day, this cute heart will look amazing popped onto a present, or made into a brooch!
The winner for the Happiest Socks goes to The Rock The Party Socks by Trisha Paetsch, as chosen by Chloë! They’re colorful and fun, and can be made from any scrap yarn you have lying around!
For Anna, animals are always winners! And who would disagree? Even though the model for this lovely pattern is not as enthusiastic as others, it makes up for it with incredible cuteness! The Carrot Hat pattern by Sara Thomas is as adorable as it is fun to knit!
