Christmas gift knitting patterns for the last minute crafter

Christmas is right around the corner, so if you’ve hit panic mode looking for presents, fear not. We have a list of Christmas gift knitting patterns (and one crochet pattern) to make right now.

The Headband in Debbie Bliss Winter Garden is a great super-fast accessory to make, with a fun texture to keep it interesting. Though the original yarn has been discontinued, we recommend Debbie Bliss Riva, a bulky wool blend yarn. This chunky knit won’t take long at all to make several of these for family and friends.

For something a little more complex, but still quick and easy, the Anthropologie Inspired Braided Headwrap is a great option. Rich-looking and sleek, it will keep your friends warm and chic at the same time. We love Rowan Big Wool yarn for this project, with a generous yardage and a bevy of colors to choose from.

Hats are a quick choice, as well, and the Orpheus from Berroco is visually interesting, with stripes that can be done in any combination of colors. The gray and black is a good unisex option or you can make it in colors of their favorite team or school. This pattern features Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky, a 50/50 blend of merino wool and alpaca that’s super soft and perfect for headwear.

If this winter ever actually feels like winter, a pair of thick mittens will be useful. These snuggly beauties feature Berroco Inca Tweed, a super soft chunky yarn with tweed.

This basic cowl by Jenise Reid is a great choice for a last minute knit. It knits up in a flash using a yarn like Rowan Thick n’ Thin, a varied weight yarn with amazing vibrant shades that will suit everyone in your family. Psst! Don’t forget the buttons!

A basket can be extremely useful and make for attractive decor. The Jersey Storage Basket by Jessica Biscoe is made in a super bulky jersey yarn and done in one piece. It looks great and is completely functional in any home. We love these baskets made in Hoooked Zpaghetti yarn, a ribbon-like jersey yarn that knits up in a flash.

This XXL crochet cushion from Annemarie Benthem is a super quick addition to any home. Whether you are gifting it to a loved one or making it to add some holiday seating to your home, it looks amazing in Rico Fashion Summer yarn, which is delightfully super chunky and 100% cotton.

For a tea-obsessed friend, a cute little cozy is a great choice. This mug snug from Ruth Maddock looks great in Rowan Tweed for some old-world charm, and you could easily knit up a stack of these!
