MillaMia HotTag competition winners announced!

Back in August we announced a contest with a £500/$650 voucher prize! All you had to do was knit anything you wanted, as long it used MillaMia Naturally Soft Cotton. We got more than three dozen entries, from toy animals to scarves and socks, all of which were amazing. Here are the big winners:

Runners up:

We love this duo-tone design from Nimhriel, which she said she designed “for my daughter as she loves to look at herself in the mirror while wearing pretty things (she’s only 3!). I’ll release the pattern soon. I wanted something very practical, as kids have a tendency to run, roll and get messy in no time. That’s what the ring in the back is for. One tail goes into the other so it won’t open and it stays tight enough around little necks.”

Baby lobster hat

These cute little lobster hats make me think of my childhood on Cape Cod playing in the sand in my seersucker overalls. These great hats were created Beth Garbo, who — not surprisingly — lives on the coast of Connecticut.

Grand prize:

September baby patterns

Zunia H made a whole bunch of adorable projects for babies, including some sweaters, a blanket, and a hat. She says, “I knit – in the car, in the evening watching television, on the train, on a plane – anywhere. I knit for family, friends and the local Special Care Baby Unit – I have wanted to make the baby blanket for ages – and this was the right moment!” The blanket pattern is from the book “Vintage Knits for Modern Babies” by Hadley Fierlinger, and the rest are from Debbie Bliss’s “Eco Baby” knitting book.

Thanks a lot for this opportunity! I really enjoyed it! 🙂

Your mini shawl is lovely. The addition of the ring in the back to help the shawl stay in place while the little kid plays is thoughtful and sweet. Great job!
