My 5 favorite MillaMia projects

Three weeks ago we asked you to enter our contest by knitting or crocheting a project using the new MillaMia Naturally Soft Cotton. In case you missed it the first time, we’re giving away a £500/$650 voucher to spend at LoveKnitting, plus prizes for two runners up! We’re about halfway through the contest, and we’ve had some great entries so far! Here are my five favorites to date:

1. Seaweed spider

What better way to start off this list than with a creative seaweed spider from Sophie? This cute little guy would make a great toy for a little one, or you could make up a bunch and use them as Halloween decorations!

2.  Baby blanket

Kelly made this cute tri-colored blanket for her niece, who I’m sure will look adorable bundled up in this! I love when projects are made for someone special, and I’m sure her niece will hold onto this for years to come.

3. Assortment of bunny dresses

We’re so happy that the MillaMia yarn has excited and inspired maker Julie W to knit these great bunny dresses in a different colors and patterns. They look great Julie, keep up the good work!

4. DC baby cardigan

Designer Laura Eccleston made this nice little one-button baby cardigan and was kind enough to put together a video tutorial on her YouTube page as well. This pattern is perfect if you’re new to crochet, so grab some yarn and give it a go!

5. Summer Star Stitch Top

We recently featured an upcycled tee design by Emma of Steel&Stitch on the blog, and it looks like she’s been inspired by the idea to create another fantastic top. I love the way she takes such simple elements and creates something truly original.

Well, those are my favorite five patterns so far, what do you think? Can you do better? We’d love to see your entries, and you still have plenty of time, so get those projects entered into the contest here. Remember, there’s a £500/$650 voucher to be won — so what are you waiting for?

I think the baby cardigan (4) will be very difficult for someone new to knitting as, well, it’s crochet, not knitting! Really surprised at this sort of mistake being made!

  2. Erika S says:

    Love the baby cardigan!!
