Shawls we’re ”yarning” for

Shawls are a staple for every knitter – great for gifts, and great to make for ourselves! We absolutely love these shawls, created by the LoveKnitting independent designers!

1. ”Bermuda” by Amy Miller

Bermuda shawl pattern by Amy Miller - get it at LoveKnitting!

We love this garter stitch triangle shawl – it really showcases how nice garter stitch can look in an accessory, and the trim finishes the shawl with a classic edging. For this shawl, we love Drops Fabel 4 ply yarn – a super soft, superwash blend that will knock your socks off! We recommend shades Off White Beige (800), Grey (200), and Rust (110) to recreate the shawl in the image, but click below to view all available shades!

2. ”Quicksilver” by Melanie Berg

This shawl is practical, funky, and fresh – with wedges of lace mesh in between stripes of garter stitch, you can’t go wrong with this shawl! We absolutely adore Lana Grossa Cool Wool Baby, a 100% wool yarn that is available in an array of bright, bold shades. Check out shades 243 (Navy blue), 208 (Light blue), and 237 (Tangerine) to complete this project!

3. ”Cobweb” by boo-knits

This elegant shawl is a stunning showstopper with delicate lace and subtle beading. The entire shawl is  created using only the knit stitch! For this pattern, you could use any shade of Malabrigo Sock – we are obsessed with Playa (871), Caribeno (474), and Velvet Grapes (204)!

We love this slipped stitch shawl, complete with lace edging! The garter stitch stripes and structured design make for a funky fresh shawl design that would complement any wardrobe. For this pattern, Debbie Bliss Cashmerino is a fabulous choice! Available in an unbelievable shade palette, to recreate the shawl pictured you would use Duck Egg (026) and Terracotta (085)!

5. ”Transatlantic” by Stephen West

We can’t get enough of this contemporary slipped stitch shawl by Stephen West! This top down design features cutouts for a high fashion look that can also be a functional addition when the shawl is worn as a scarf, to secure one side of the shawl. For this pattern, we recommend Rowan Finest in shades Glee (070), Rare (059), and Lure (071), as seen here!

i’m in love with both Quicksilver and Bond Street. even though i make it a rule never to use blue, the duck egg blue in Bond Street is amazing! for Quicksilver, i think i would change the blues to a silver/grey/black combo.

  2. Esmeralda Bustos says:

The cardigans are beautiful. I hope I can make one. I’m just a beginner, but I am going to try.

  3. Ivanka T. says:

Why does not the links to the pattern?

  4. Lorinda says:

They are all very nice, but I would love to make either the Quicksilver or the Cobweb shawl.

  5. Eugenia Bogun says:

I love the QuickSilver shawl. This can be worn in so many ways and practically all year round, plus the colour combination is nearly unlimited!

  6. jeannette frank says:

Any of them would be fun to make and I have enough friends and family that I wouldn’t have a problem finding soneone to wear whatever one (or all) that I made.
