#YARNVENTURE Indoors I am working on a cute fall lace blouse it has been above 95° here in Sacramento. I finally did what I’ve been wanting this summer, I took my yarn from to the beach. Yeah, sun block, beach chair, umbrella and a very cool breeze which made it just the perfect for knitting socks. I think that is my favorite project because I love wearing bed socks in the fall and winter and Christmas is just around the corner. This weekend I will be taking my yarn to Golden Gate Park were it should be no more than 75°. Can’t wait. loveknitting website is so colorful I just love browsing through all their items.

I make socks for my family, friends and co-workers for Christmas – last year 17 pair! I use mostly Paton’s Kroy sock yarn – I love that it is machine wash/dry. I have 4.5 pair done so far for this year. I also have a shawl, Celtic Myths fingering pattern from Ravelry, on my needles – forest green Regia 4 ply. Should be beautiful when it is done. 26. Dot Camerer says:

What’s on my needles? I’m knitting squares to crochet into a rug for charity. I usually buy my yarn from op shops so I cannot plan a rug. I knit dozens of squares, thinking all the time how I might form a rug, then I do it. I think it’s more fun that way. Mostly I get only parts of balls of yarn and that’s when I knit stripes. Over the last 8 years I have knitted dozens of rugs, sometimes 6-10 in a year. Some rugs are for babies or small children, so smaller and sometimes the squares are smaller too. Mostly I give them to the Salvo’s but tonight I gave one of my rugs to someone to pass on to a victim of domestic violence who was sleeping on the floor. I hope she loves it as much as I loved making it.

  27. Bette Nissenberg says:

On my needles at this time are small penguins wearing hats the same as those I am knitting for children undergoing chemo. The children are treated to a stay at ‘Camp Sunshine in Casco Mass.’ . There they partake of all kinds of activities merely to forget about the situation. I use full skeins, over runs, bits and pieces…whatever, and together, my friend and I send dozens of hats and dolls to the camp.
In the last week I have also completed a knitted tarantula, 2 baby sweaters, an infant hat and am at the end of an afghan for my youngest granddaughter.

  28. Jo Hastey says:

I’m working on a Topsie-Turvey doll. She is sleeping and awake made from left over yarn from various projects. I have a large stash of dolls I’ve made and put aside for future great grand children. When I’m not making dolls, I’m making newborn hats for babies in my church congragation and pot holders for new members moving in.
